Bunny Pie
A Bunny Pie is a hot filling in a pie shaped bread case. Like a pie but also a toastie.
Our “bunny pie’ is our version of the popular South African dish Bunny Chow.
AVAILABLE FILLINGS (accurate at time of writing)
1. Cheese Burger – beef patty, onion, tomato sauce, mustard, pickle, cheese.
2. Veg Curry – aromatic curry of sweet potato, peas, potato, chick peas and carrots. Vegan.
3. Beef Mince Curry – A South African Cape Malay style mild curry of beef mince, potatoes and peas.
4. Egg, bean and cheese – a whole egg cooked in the pie maker, with baked beans and cheese.
On occasion we offer special fillings such as Chili Con Carne, Chili Con Veg, Pulled Lamb, Chicken pie and Green Lentil Curry.
The Bunny Pie is our everyday alternative to the popular South African Bunny Chow – a hollowed out half loaf of bread filled with curry.
We do serve Bunny Chow for special events and occasions or can supply them upon request.
Bunny Pies are made fresh to order and served with an optional topping of Greek yoghurt and chili sambal.
The Bunny Pie goes well with one of our craft beers. Our craft beers have supplied to us from local beer experts Oldfield Cellars.
