ABOUT LOCO KOEKSISTER DAY
Koeksisters are cinnamon yeast doughnuts served hot and sprinkled with coconut.
Koeksisters are a South African Cape Malay weekend breakfast tradition, dating back around 300 years.
South Africa has another sweet called Koeksister. It is not the same.
These are the Cape Malay style yeast doughnuts, served hot. Not the
twisty kind.
We will be making and serving koeksisters on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 February 2026. Would you like some, too?
